Wäinölä is a unique event venue in the middle of the forest, in the armpit of Nuuksio National Park. In Wäinölä, Finnish traditions are honored, it is named after the home village of Väinämöinen, the great hero of the Kalevala, and built in the spirit of the Iron Age.

The village of the Kalevala is also called Wäinölä, after the name of Väinämöinen, the greatest hero of the Kalevala.

IRON-AGE BUILDING
In Wäinölä, Finnish traditions and craftsmanship are honored, logs are hand-carved, hinges and iron parts are forged by a blacksmith. A big fireplace brings atmosphere and warmth and serves in cooking.
Wäinölä is built according to the iron age, the era of Vikings.The benches are covered with fells and traditional rugs, there is place for 40 diners at four long tables. For a group of 20 people the tables are combined into one large banquet table.
DELICIOUS WILD FOOD
We will organize anything from breakfast to a four-course dinner. We offer game, moose, dear and reindeer and fish from Finland. We serve organic and local food, e.g. mushrooms and wild herbs from the nearby forest.
For a dinner enjoy a three-course-menu of smoked salmon, game or vegetarian option, for lunch have a tasty soup or a delicious pie and for dessert e.g. pancakes or bilberry pie.
You are allowed to bring your own alcohol drinks with.
COZY BY THE FIRE
Wäinölä is located on a top of a hill with a lake view. At the campfire sites of Wäinölä’s courtyard you can sit by the fire and enjoy coffee or herbal drink. The two campfire places can accommodate up to 100 people.
In the vicinity of Wäinölä is our lakeside Villa Paratiisi, which accommodates 14 people and luxury log cabin Ainola for 2 people.
UNFORGETTABLE EVENTS
Organize important events or your special day in Wäinölä, such as traditional and themed weddings, birthdays and barchelor parties in Viking style, product launches and graduation parties or a well-being retreats.
KALEVALA PARTY
Dive into the past of our ancestors and take part in ancient Kalevala feast. Wrap a ribbon around your waist and set the mood for Finnish traditional music, storytelling and good food.
The program last 3 hours and includes a three-course meal and a program with musicians. Send email and book the program for your family, friends and colleques.
KALEVALA WEDDING
Wäinölä’s traditional wedding is based on old Finnish traditions.
Traditional music is played on accordion, violin, kantele and harmonica. The wedding meal is made from local ingredients. We can organize a ready-made wedding package with flowers, a cake and musicians.
LIKE THE VIKINGS
In Wäinölä, you can also organize Viking-themed parties: birthdays, bachelor parties and adventures for kids..
You can dress up like a viking with helmets, costumes, shields and swords.
RETRITES AND COURSES
Wäinölä is ideal for retreats and courses. Without tables and benches, there is room for 10-12 people for a yoga retreat.
Accommodation of a retreat can be in Villa Paradise, next to Wäinölä.
VILLA PARATIISI
Villa Paratiisi is an atmospheric villa by the lake, suitable for 20 people and 14 people to stay over night.
AINOLA
Ainola is a luxury cabin for two. Spend the night in cabin filled with Finnish luxury design.
